Uncategorized

Do you find yourself discounting the wins of your business?

Is it easy for you to accept the blame for failures but not the accolades for success?

Are you constantly held back by the fear of failing at great feats?

Do you set impossible goals for yourself so that you are constantly struggling out of your reach?

Have you capped how much you can charge for your services despite the professionalism you bring to the table?

If these examples feel like you then you are experiencing what is called the imposter syndrome.

If you can identify with these mindsets then you are the reason why your business cannot grow.

Let me also add one quality that underpins all the above: you’ve attended numerous trainings and read a gazillion books, right?

Now let’s talk.

You cannot rise beyond how far you give yourself permission to rise. You only rise to the extent to which you give yourself permission to be human, yet intentional.

So I’m just here to encourage you today.

So let me share with you 5 things you should start doing that if you can muster the courage to do, you will likely have more than enough drive to face your fears and excel in spite of them.

Share a story of something you did wrong in public. It takes a lot of guts to do this. It opens you up to criticism. But hey, if we want to swim against the tide, (which is the path to success) we must be willing to live with and manage criticism. So think of something that you’ve moved on from and find a public platform to share it on. Don’t share stuff that is still raw with you, the backlash might be too much for you to bear.

Bring your plans out to the open for us to know about. There is a form of energy that comes when you start speaking about what you plan to do. You get bolder, you get stronger, and you get too restless not to take action. You also won’t want to let us down. Or would you?

Look for those who have dealt with what you are dealing with and do some research on who they were and where they’re at. It will help boost your confidence, knowing that if someone can do it. So can you. If you can, connect with them and meet them. Ask them intelligent questions to help you draw from their strength.

Speak kind words to yourself and don’t hang around people who talk down on you. If you do, you’re not going to achieve much. Gravitate towards where you are celebrated, not where you are tolerated. Slowly but steadily, you will begin to feel better about yourself. You will begin to love yourself more.

Document your wins and the things you are grateful for. Then allow yourself to take the credit for doing a good job. It’s alright to be celebrated. It’s ok to receive accolades sometimes.
